This essay is very interesting one. It reveals how some women care about defending thier country during time of of crisis. Anna, shows feeling of denied rights. She sees as inequity to require only for men to regester for the military draft. She blames congress and supreme court for things like women don't have physical strengths, women prisoners could be sexually assaulted. overall her argument is to make female to be eligible for draft as they represent today in vertually all fields. I like the way she brought the Afghan women because I heard many times how badly the Afghan women suffer.

Under the Influence

Under the Influence was a good essay to read. It showed what alcohol can do to a person when they take it. It talked about how his father drinking affected him and his family. When reading this essay you get to learn when he was ten years old that he failed his father and blamed himself when his dad drank. His father was an alcoholic, for as long as he could remember. He talks about the way his father alcoholism affected him and his family. It had a very strong impact on the author; he himself never drank, and tries to convince other people not to do so, by writing this essay. In the end of the essay the author talks about how he tries stays away from all alcohol, but that he rarely has few drinks and when he does he listens for a turning of a key.

This is a good photo essay and it talkes about air france that was crushed in Atlantic Ocean on May 31, apparently killing all 228 aboard on top of that no body has a clue about how it crushed and what happened . This is sad story because so many family have lost their families by the plan crush and they don't know about their condition, so you can find out more about the story in this website.

In this essay I had of Uncle Sam and Aunt Samantha, is talking about how female are treated according to defending their country. That shows how the females were treated before the fought for their rights. In the story the lady says that the country only forced the draft for the men ones they turn 18 years old. While the women place to cook for the finer stuff and stayed home. In the story it said if mothers and fathers both will be drafted no one will take care of the child. Caroline an expert on women’s legal rights and a professor at the University of Oregon “Failing to require this of women makes us lesser citizens.” I disagree with this quote, because you not being drafted doesn’t make you lesser.

The essay talks about how women in the army are not being treated right. It’s not just women but also men aren’t being treated right also. The parents of the daughters are worried of their kids because they’re not physically strong. I agree that women should be in the army and be treated the same as men. Failing to require women makes us less citizen. I choose this quote because women can do the same things as men and they should not be treated wrong.

These two essays had only two common ideas: democracy and end of racism. What we did not discuss was apartheid. I think it is more important, because it is extermination of the whole race. It is very important to see what is happening in other countries, because we do not want someone's culture to die out completely. I liked the quote, "When that moment comes, we shall, together, rejoice in a common victory over racism, apartheid and white minority rule." This totally true, because white are minority over there, but for some reason they have an ability to control over the entire population of South Africa. Maybe that is because they rare more educated , it doesn't give them right to kill someone's culture.
I do not know what English skill will be more important to me in the future, but i know whatever they wrote and made a history out of it, it makes me more educated.
I have no goals for improvement in English in the future.
